New Windows Version of iPhoDroid Installs Android on Your iPhone With One Click

Sergio Mcfly has announced the release of a Windows version of iPhoDroid which can install Android on your iPhone 3G with one click.

"YES! It's today. Gotta tell you Im so thankful for everyone to be so patient and understandable for this Release. The delay was necessary because I made everything for do not mess up your computer and despite Microsoft Windows7 64bit is very tough to accept an un-certificated DLL, I found a very good safe way to run the App without installation and no hassles. All on-the-fly and in one single click, 1SHOT Yeah!! and now it runs on fine over XP and Vista (i386 and x64). I hope all of you help me to keep this Project alive; I never ever thought that this could be this BIG as it is. Thanks everyone and God bless!"

We will post instructions on how to do this shortly.

How to Install Android on Your iPhone 2G, 3G [iPhoDroid 1Shot]

These are instructions on how to install Google's Android operating system on your iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G using iPhoDroid 1Shot.

Step One
To perform these instructions you must first jailbreak your iPhone. You can find instructions on how to do that here. It is strongly recommended that you use RedSn0w to jailbreak rather then a userland jailbreak such as JailbreakMe.

After jailbreaking your iPhone make sure to open Cydia and make sure your installed packages are up to date.

Step Two
Download the latest version of iPhoDroid from
here.

Step Three
Double click the downloaded zip to extract the application. Then double click the application icon to launch it.

Step Four
Make sure your iPhone is connected to the computer via a USB cable then press the
Shoot! button.

Step Five
iPhoDroid will then extract the touch driver and transfer the cache, system, and data to the iPhone.

You will be informed that your iPhone is being placed into Recovery Mode.

Your iPhone will now show you an Apple logo and an Android logo. Use the volume buttons to select the
Install option at the lower left hand corner of the screen then press the Home button.

Some verbose mode text will appear on the screen as Android is installed. Once complete your iPhone will boot into the Android operating system.

HOW TO: Install/Uninstall Android 2.2 Froyo On iPhone 3G

Posted Image

A few weeks ago,
we showed you how to use iPhodroid to install Android OS on your iPhone 2G/3G. The developer released a few more versions of the app since , and today we can install Android OS 2.2 Froyo on the iPhone 3G.

Requirements:
  • jailbroken iPhone 3G running iOS 4
  • openSSH installed
  • iPhodroid 0.6 R12 ( or updates )
NOTE: works ONLY with iPhone 3G
NOTE: before you begin the installation , go to Settings>General>Auto Lock and set it to “Never”
NOTE: many people, experience an error when trying to boot into Froyo. If you check the verbose boot screen, you will see the following line over and over ‘cannot set as speaker mixer LDSPK set’ . If that’s the case, wait for iPhodroid to be updated…
How to install Froyo:
1. Download iPhodroid and extract. Double click on the icon to load the app
2. You will be warned that this version of iPhodroid won’t backup your iPhone’s NOR. If you want your NOR backed up, you can run a prior version and back it up.

3. This version of iPhodroid is only available for iPhone 3G so , all you need is to select install and click next to continue

4. You will be asked to type-in your Mac’s password

Posted Image

5. You will be asked to enter your iPhone’s IP address

Posted Image
6. You will be asked to type-in your SSH password. Default password is ‘alpine’, if you changed it, type-in your new password

Posted Image

7. Now, iPhodroid will connect to your iPhone via SSH. Wait for a few seconds

Posted Image

8. Now , iPhodroid will open up a terminal shell, and will copy everything on your iPhone. This process has 8 steps, so all you need to do is wait
9. Once the app is done, it will ask you to put your iPhone in recovery mode. To do that, follow the image below.

10. Once in recovery mode, click on “Load Install”. Now iPhodroid will quit, and it will close the terminal shell as well. From now on , we will work only on the iPhone

11. When you click on ‘Load Install’ , your iPhone will reboot, and you will get a nice shiny iBoot screen. Tap on the power button once, to select the ‘Install’ icon, and tap the home button, to install Froyo
