iPhone 6c To Sport Larger Battery Than iPhone 5s And 2GB Of RAM

A lot of the conjecture at the time of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus release actually suggested that the “iPhone 6c” – or whatever naming convention Apple chooses to go with – would ship alongside the current flagship models. Obviously that didn’t happen. The rumors however don’t seem to want to subside, with the latest rumor focusing on the internal battery capacity of the purported device as well as the amount of on-board RAM.
The latest set of suggestions that have made it into the public domain are reportedly coming courtesy of a set of unnamed sources said to have immediate connections to Foxconn, Apple’s main manufacturing partner in China. Those sources are suggesting that Apple’s budget iPhone will ship with the same 4-inch Retina HD display found in the likes of the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, but will hugely differentiate itself from those models thanks to its internal specification. One of those upgrades is said to come in the form of a 1642 mAh capacity battery, an upgrade from the iPhone 5s’ 1570 mAh offering.

The report is also suggesting that Apple has found the sweet spot for RAM in iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The rumored 4-inch device may be intended for emerging markets and those users who simply don’t want the large-screen models, but Apple looks all set to ship the hardware with 2GB RAM. That RAM will likely be accompanied by Apple’s 64-bit A9 processor, same as iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

We’ve already been privy to a number of reports from prominent analysts that have suggested would-be consumers can look forward to Touch ID and Apple Pay capabilities with this particular device, as well as a potential release in early 2016. This latest report is echoing part of those sentiments by suggesting that Apple could look to put the device into mass production as early as January 2016. That could fall in line nicely with a speculated March Apple media event.
