How to update iMovie to v 1.3 without upgrading to iOS 5.1

Apple has updated iMovie yesterday and added some cool features in it But the downside is that you have to be on iOS 5.1, which really makes a jailbreaker’s life miserable like me As I’ve an untethered jailbroken iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1 and I dont want to lose the jailbreak at any cost but at the sametime I wanted to upgrade iMovie to v.1.3. So today I found a solution on web to install iMovie v1.3 without upgrading to iOS 5.1:
Here are the steps that you need to follow:
- Make sure you have an jailbroken iPhone with iFile app installed in it (If not installed then download it from cydia)
- Now launch iFile app and navigate to the following directory: /System/Library/CoreServices

- Once you are in the CoreServices directory scroll down and look for SystemVersion.plist, now tap on it and open it on Textviewer.
- Once the file is opened, tap on Edit button and look for 5.0.1 (You should see this if your current iOS version is 5.0.1)
- Now change it to 5.1 from 5.0.1 and hit Done and Save button.

- Respring your iDevice and head over to Appstore and update the iMovie, just put your appleid password and App will start updating.
Note: If you have Activator on your iDevice it will throw an alert message saying that its not been tested wit this version of iOS, just ignore it and tap on Continue button
